Specification

Built for every vehicle class, every terrain, every condition.

A full-spectrum driving environment, not a single vehicle on a single road.

8 Vehicle Types

4 Light Motor Vehicles and 4 Heavy Motor Vehicles, each modelled for authentic handling characteristics.

7 Diverse Terrains

From metalled highway to broken mountain track, rehearsed before the vehicle ever leaves the base.

Dynamic Weather & Time

Rain, fog, day and night cycles, trainees face the conditions they'll actually drive in.

Real-Time Fault Injection

Instructors trigger mechanical and environmental faults mid-session to build response under pressure.

Automated Performance Reports

Every session scored and logged, objective, repeatable evaluation instead of instructor judgment alone.

Portable & Deployable

Built to move with the unit, not bolt to a single training hall.

Hardware in the Loop

Oculus Quest 2 headset with a Logitech G29 wheel, pedal and force-feedback rig.

Multi-Base Deployment

Standardised training across geographically separated units, without shipping vehicles between them.

Hardware in the loop

Real controls, real muscle memory.

Trainees sit in a real driving rig, a Logitech G29 wheel with force feedback, real pedals, a real seat, while the Oculus Quest 2 headset puts them on Himalayan switchbacks or a rain-lashed convoy route. What the hands and feet learn on the rig transfers directly to the vehicle, because the inputs were never simulated to begin with.

Field-proven

VRMMDS is not a demonstration on a clean floor. It is operational across 15+ states, including Assam and Himachal Pradesh, terrain and weather that punish drivers and vehicles alike. Monsoon rain, mountain gradient, low visibility and long convoy routes are the default training condition, not an edge case saved for later.

Who it is for

  • Army and paramilitary driver training establishments
  • Units that train drivers across several bases
  • Transport and fleet operators training light and heavy vehicle drivers
  • Training institutes that need objective, repeatable assessment

How a deployment works

  1. Scoping You tell us the vehicle classes, terrain and number of trainees.
  2. Demonstration See VRMMDS on a real rig, at T-Hub in Hyderabad or at your base.
  3. Setup Rigs are installed on your own infrastructure, air-gapped if your policy requires it.
  4. Training Instructors run sessions, inject faults and receive a scored report for every trainee.

Simulator vs live training

Simulator or live vehicle: where each one fits.

Live driving stays essential for final qualification. A simulator takes on the repetition, the rare emergencies and the measurement, so live hours are spent on what only a real vehicle can teach.

FAQ

Questions buyers ask about VRMMDS.

What is VRMMDS?

VRMMDS is the Virtual Reality-based Multi-Mode Driving Simulator built by THE MOE. Trainees drive a real wheel, pedals and seat while a VR headset puts them in the vehicle and the terrain. It is approved by the Indian Army and officially endorsed by the Simulator Development Division.

Which vehicles can trainees drive?

Eight vehicle types: four light motor vehicles and four heavy motor vehicles, each modelled for its own handling characteristics. Drivers train across all of them on the same rig.

What terrain and conditions does it cover?

Seven terrains, from metalled highway to broken mountain track, with rain, fog, and day and night cycles. Instructors can also inject mechanical and environmental faults in the middle of a session to train the response under pressure.

What hardware does it use?

An Oculus Quest 2 headset with a Logitech G29 steering wheel, pedals and force feedback, mounted in a driving rig with a real seat. The rig is portable, so it moves with the unit instead of being fixed to one training hall.

How are trainees assessed?

Every session is scored and logged automatically. Instructors get objective, repeatable performance reports, including fault-injection outcomes, instead of relying on judgement alone.

Can it run without a network connection?

Yes. VRMMDS is air-gap capable and can be deployed on your own premises, so it runs fully disconnected where policy requires it and training data stays inside your facility.

Where is VRMMDS deployed?

It is in operational use with the Indian Army across 15+ states, including Assam and Himachal Pradesh, where monsoon rain, mountain gradients and low visibility are normal training conditions. Full operational details are available under NDA.

How much does it save?

Each unit saves ₹19 lakh compared with training on live vehicles. Ask us for a deployment briefing and we will walk you through the outcomes.

How can we see it?

Request a demonstration and we will run VRMMDS on a real rig, at T-Hub in Hyderabad or on-site at your location.
